Trash Talk

This post may seem a little strange, but hey, what else have you come to expect from me?

Today I want to talk trash. Not that kind of trash you may associate erupting from my potty mouth, but REAL honest to goodness trash. Trash as in what is one man's trash could be another man's treasure. Although, in this case, I doubt there's much treasure to be found.

The good news is the annual Spring Clean up Week is a done deal in the city. All of the unsightly, unwanted STUFF has been picked up by city workers and transported elsewhere. Our streets are for the most part clear of unsightly litter.

How unsightly was it? Take a look. There were stacks of tires...

Broken down chairs...

Boxes and containers... See that running shoe?

Carpets and lawn sprinklers and goodness knows what in those bins...

Chairs, windows, a generator, cables and lamps...

A barbecue, plastic child's chair and tree branches...

More tires, rotted beaver-puke shelves and a step-ladder...

Upright vacuums, flooring and miscellaneous bits of wood...

An old television set, pillow and cardboard cartons....

Satellite dish, and remotes and goodness knows what...

Another upright vacuum cleaner, more tire rims and a folding table...

Plus moving boxes and an office desk...

As I stated above, the good news is all of that stuff is gone to trash heaven or wherever it is unwanted junk goes.(Please, I'm joking. I don't need a lecture on the harm all of this unwanted stuff does to the environment. I know. Honest.)

So, why the photo of John kayaking on Esten Lake? Because I couldn't bring myself to post any more trash. Nor did I want to talk about it anymore. Why? Because...
