It's been an exceptionally warm week. Even the locals are talking about the temperatures that've ranged from the mid to high seventies. Yesterday the mercury reached 80F, and while I'm not complaining, I did feel a little parched. Sort of like this prickly pear cactus that hugs a building just down the road. It's about six feet wide and three feet high, so it's been there quite awhile.
At the opposite end of the beach, closer to St. Andrews State Park, the natural vegetation struggles to reclaim the dunes. Signs are posted along the beach urging people to stay off the dunes and adhere to the Leave No Trace policy.
This final photo inspired the title for this post. Swirling. Sand and Surf. Spectacular!
